Christ Covenant Church (Matthews, North Carolina)

Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, North Carolina a suburban city in Charlotte, NC is a Presbyterian congregation within the Central Carolina Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America.[1][2][3] Its active membership are about 2,350.[4] The founder of the congregation is Henry L. Reeder III.[5] the current senior pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Briarwood Church was played significant role in the establishment of Christ Covenant Church in 1983.[6] The first building was a small unit in southeast Charlotte. The church grew rapidly. Land was purchased in Matthews, today the campus has 8 buildings, total 12,000 feet including a 2,000 seats sanctuary. The ministry is assisted by almost 100 members staff, including pastors.[7] The current senior pastor is Dr. Mike Ross.[8]

The church supports missionaries of the MTW in France, South Africa, Romania, East Africa and also in the Charlotte area.[9] The congregation also has outreaches in several US states like Mission Utah and cooperate efforts with Mission to North America of the PCA.[10]

Christ Covenant Church supports the Covenant Day School.[11]
