Christ Presbyterian Academy is a private, coeducational, college-preparatory school for grades preschool through 12 in Nashville, TN. The Academy provides transformational education through a Christian worldview and offers extensive programs to develop the diverse potential of each student. CPA is affiliated with Christ Presbyterian Church, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America.[1]

About

Christ Presbyterian Academy was established in 1985 as a ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church for the education of the covenant children of Christ Presbyterian Church and, space permitting, those of other believers who would desire to educate them at the Academy. It began with a faculty and staff of 11 and with 124 children in grades K-6. The Academy doubled in size the next year and has experienced continued growth, adding grades and classes to develop a comprehensive preschool-12 program. Current enrollment is just over 1,200, with a faculty and staff of over 200.

Athletics

The CPA athletics program encompasses students from the 5th grade through the 12th grade at the Academy. At the high school level, CPA is a member of the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association (TSSAA); at the middle school level, CPA is a member of the Harpeth Valley Athletic Conference (HVAC). Led by Athletic Director Mike Ellson, the program seeks to teach students the fundamentals of physical development, teamwork, determination, and faith-based competition. The school mascot is a lion. The following varsity sports are offered at CPA:

Basketball: The CPA Lions basketball team have won numerous state championships in women's and men's basketball. Under Coach Drew Maddux, the men's basketball team has won two state championship games. Coach Becky LeGate has also won two with the Lady Lions.

Football: The CPA Lions football team has won three total state championships. Their most recent championship came in 2014, when they beat Alcoa 7-0 to cap off a perfect 15-0 season. Ingle Martin is the head coach of the Lions.

Soccer: The CPA men's soccer team has won three state championships in 1999, 2014 and 2015.

Baseball: The CPA baseball team won the 2015 championship the same day that the men's soccer team won their 2015 state title.
