"Christ ist erstanden" (Christ is risen) is a German Easter hymn.[1] It appeared in the Apel Codex, a manuscript from around 1500.

The hymn appeared in translations in 24 hymnals.[2] It inspired vocal and organ music from the Renaissance to contemporary periods, including composers such as Michael Praetorius, Heinrich Schütz and Enjott Schneider, among others.[3]
