Christian Tattersfield
Christian Tattersfield was the CEO of Warner Music UK & Chairman, Warner Bros. Records UK
Early career
Tattersfield began his career in music at London Records in 1990, establishing new labels Systematic and Internal. In 1997, he moved to BMG where he founded the NorthWestSide imprint, whose signings included Jay Z, Another Level and N Sync.[1]
After subsequently joining East West Records as MD, Tattersfield signed David Gray, who he is widely credited with having discovered.[2]
Tattersfield founded 14th Floor Records in 2002 as a joint venture with Warner Music UK, where he signed Biffy Clyro, The Wombats, Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne.
Warner Music UK
Tattersfield was appointed CEO in August 2009,[1] assuming responsibility for the company’s UK portfolio, with labels including Atlantic Records, Asylum, Nonesuch, Reprise, Roadrunner, Rhino, sixsevenine, Warner Music Entertainment and Warner Bros. Records.
Tattersfield has overseen the expansion of the company's A&R capabilities by forging partnerships with Pete Tong[3] and Steve Greenberg. He also oversaw the recent creation of Warner Music Artist and Label Services, which launched with Johnny Marr and Orbital on board.[3]
Warner Music Group UK labels include acts such as Ed Sheeran, Biffy Clyro, Paolo Nutini, Foals, Damien Rice, Plan B, Pendulum, Lianne La Havas, The Wombats, Katherine Jenkins, Rumer, Rudimental, Birdy, The Overtones and Hugh Laurie.
BRITS
On March 28, 2013, Christian was named Chairman of the BRITs Committee.[4]
Education
Tattersfield graduated with Honours from Cambridge University.[1]
