Sir Christopher George Nugee (born 23 January 1959), officially styled The Hon Mr Justice Nugee, is a British High Court judge.[1]
The second son of Edward Nugee TD QC,[2] he was educated at Radley College before going up to Corpus Christi College, Oxford to read Jurisprudence, graduating as BA; he later pursued further legal studies at City University (Dip Law).[3]
He was called to the Bar at Inner Temple in 1983 and appointed QC in 1998 before becoming a Bencher of the Inn in 2003.[4]
Nugee has been a Justice of the Queen's Bench in the High Court of England and Wales (Chancery Division) since 2013,[5] and was appointed Knight Bachelor in 2014.[6]
Sir Christopher married in 1991 Emily, daughter of Professor Cedric Thornberry, by whom he has three children. They live at Islington, in the north London constituency which his wife, Emily Thornberry, represents as Member of Parliament.
He is brother of John Nugee (Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors), Andrew Nugee (Chief Executive of Imagineear), and Major General Richard Nugee CBE (British Army).[7]
