Chumburu
The Chumburu are a tribe in the North of Ghana. They are indigenous in two traditional areas:
- The kingdom of Chumburung in the West of Kpandai District in Northern Region (Ghana);
- The town and surroundings of Yeji in Brong-Ahafo in Ghana.
Both traditional areas are at the shores of Lake Volta.
The Chumburu speak the Chumburung language.[1]
- ↑ http://www.northernghanapeoples.co.uk/ , section about Chumburung, must be corrected in a number of ways. Most important, the kingdom of Chumburung does not spread across Lake Volta toward Banda and beyond. These parts of Volta Region belong to the kingdom and traditional area of Krachi. Furthermore, Kabesi is an exclave of the Nawuri kingdom around the town of Kpandae.
