Ciemnik [ˈt͡ɕemnik] (German: Temnick) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ińsko, within Stargard County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south of Ińsko, 37 km (23 mi) east of Stargard Szczeciński, and 66 km (41 mi) east of the regional capital Szczecin.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany, and the name of the village was Temnick. Originally Temnick had been a fief of the German noble family von Delitz.[2] The estate was sold in 1789 by Berend Ludwig von Delitz.[3] Following World War II the native German populace was expelled and replaced by Poles.
