Ciné Télé Revue is a French language weekly television magazine published in Brussels, Belgium.

History and profile

The magazine was first published on 13 October 1944 under the name Théâtra Ciné Revue.[1] The founder was Jean Leempoel, and Joe van Cottom was the first editor-in-chief.[1] The magazine is published on a weekly basis and has its headquarters in Brussels.[2] The original focus of the magazine was the American movies and film stars.[1] In 1984 the magazine switched its name to the current one, Ciné Télé Revue, and began to focus on television programs.[1]

Ciné Télé Revue is published by Editions Ciné Revue.[3] The weekly provides news on celebrities and TV programs as well as articles on health, environment, culture and tourism.[2] The latter topics were added in the 1990s.[1] The weekly launched its online version in 2000, being the first Belgian magazine to have a website.[1] Ingrid Fallay is the editor-in-chief of the magazine,[2] which is also published in France.[1]

Circulation

Ciné Télé Revue had a circulation of 342,413 copies in 2010.[4] It was the best-selling French-language magazine in Belgium[3] with a circulation of 304,677 copies in 2011.[5] The magazine had a circulation of 282,748 copies in 2012.[5] The circulation of the magazine was 272,084 copies between the third quarter of 2012 and the second quarter of 2013.[2] Its circulation was 231,134 copies in 2014.[6]
