Circuit is a team communication and collaboration tool released on 28 October 2014 by Unify GmbH & Co. KG.[2]

History

Circuit was originally known as Project Ansible. and was first announced in June 2013 by the CEO Hamid Akhavan.[3] Circuit was designed in collaboration with the agency Frog Design Inc. who were behind the design of the Apple IIc in 1983.[4] New Unify CEO Dean Douglas announced the May 2014 Beta program for Project Ansible at Cebit 2014,[5][6] During its beta period the then Project Ansible had 1000 users.[7]

Features

Circuit is built on webRTC and is available through the Chrome browser on desktop and the iOS and Android mobile platforms. It currently features messaging, voice, video, screen sharing and document storage.[8][9][10]

Reception

In March 2015, Circuit shared the 2015 WebRTC Product of the Year Award with 24 other products.[11] In August 2015, Circuit shared the 2015 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award with 117 other products.[12]
