Design and development

The Citation Latitude project was announced by Cessna at the annual NBAA convention in October 2011. It was launched as a larger aircraft than the Cessna Citation XLS+ and cheaper than the Cessna Citation Sovereign. The aircraft will seat 9, and feature twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D turbofan engines. The Citation Latitude features a cruciform tail and all metal fuselage.[3]

The prototype first flew on 18 February 2014 at Wichita.[4] Cessna announced on June 8, 2015 that it had achieved FAA certification for the Citation Latitude, they expect first deliveries to begin in the 3rd quarter of 2015.[1]

Operational history

First deliveries are scheduled for 2016, including to NetJets, which has ordered up to 150 jets.[2]
