Citrin Cooperman is a US-based accounting, tax, and business consulting firm.[1] It is the 22nd largest firm of its kind in the US.[2][3]

History

Citrin Cooperman was founded in 1979 by Joel Cooperman and Niles Citrin, when they were still in their 20s.[4] In 2007-2008, two Philadelphia-area accounting firms joined Citrin Cooperman: Mandeloff Silver Ryan in November 2007 and Matarazzo, Goldis & Co. in Narberth, Pennsylvania, in November, 2008.[4] In November of 2010, the firms Wlodinguer, Erk & Chanzis and Rose, Dratch & Gilbert joined Citrin Cooperman. The WEC deal expanded the firm’s entertainment, media and sports practice while the RDG deal expanded their traditional accounting services.[5] In July 2014, MGI Repetti joined Citrin Cooperman, adding 10 partners and 50 staff. With the combination, Citrin Cooperman became a 600- person accounting firm with $160 million in revenues.[6][7] The technology consulting firm RCS, Real-Time Computer Services, joined Citrin Cooperman in June 2015.[8] In August, 2015 the Bethesda, Maryland based accounting firm, Regardie, Brooks & Lewis joined Citrin Cooperman. The expectation is for annual revenue to reach $185 million as a result, with the addition of six new partners.[4] In November, 2015, Joel Popkin & Company joined Citrin Cooperman. Joel Popkin & Company is a boutique accounting, tax and consulting firm with more than 45 years of experience in the restaurant, nightclub and event venues business. The agreement meant that approximately 25 new professionals joined Citrin Cooperman and that Citrin Cooperman became one of the largest accounting practices in restaurant and hospitality services in the United States.[3]
