List of municipalities in North Carolina
This is a list of the 552 incorporated municipalities (cities, towns, and villages) in the U.S. state of North Carolina. While municipalities may use the name village, town, or city, there is no legal distinction between the names, though in general villages are the smallest and cities are the largest, with many exceptions.
