Clay Earl Jackson
Clayton Earl Jackson (born 1974) is an American actor, most notable for being cast in the part of the Maytag Repairman from 2007 to 2014 after being selected in a national search conducted, in part by a friend's relative. Jackson graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 1997, where he studied drama. He acted professionally for five years before choosing to join his family's business. He is currently married with two daughters.
He was formally introduced by Maytag on April 2, 2007. After his introduction, Jackson was in over 20 commercials in both Canada and The United States, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The CBS Early Show, CBS Sunday Morning News, Fox's The Best Damn Sports Show Period and made various personal appearances across the country. Jackson was the fourth man to play the iconic role following the footsteps of Jesse White, Gordon Jump and Hardy Rawls.[1] He was replaced in January 2014 by actor Colin Ferguson [2]
Jackson is a member of the Zeta Sigma chapter (North Carolina Wesleyan University) of the Sigma Pi Fraternity.
