Clematis ternifolia is a viny plant in the Ranunculaceae family. C. ternifolia is found in parts of New Zealand, with an example occurrence within the Hamilton Ecological District in association with understory species Blechnum discolor and Doodia media and an overstory of rimu and nothofagus.[1] The species is used in cultivation, although its fragrance is considered mutable.[2] The plant is considered an invasive species by the USDA [3]
