Clinked is a cloud-based client portal and collaboration tool, enabling teams, project groups and business clients to all collaborate on documents and files. Clinked also provides a way to measure if team members are on top of activity progress, tasks and events.

Technology

Clinked aims to combine Enterprise social networking, Project Management and File management in order to create a client portal. Clinked is a white-label solution which allows clients to produce and upload their own branding. The software centres around file management, task management, wiki pages, discussions and events. Clinked also features group chat and universal threaded comments and attachments. Clinked has also released mobile and desktop applications for Android, iOS, Mac and Windows allowing the software and contents of the software to be accessed universally.

Clinked is available in 12 languages- English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Cantonese, Mandarin, Afrikaans, Swedish, Turkish and Russian.

Company

Rabbitsoft Ltd is the company behind Clinked. It is based in Cambridge, UK and was founded in 2008 by Tayfun Bilsel and Victor Stekly, when having agreed to develop an enterprise social software called Rabbit 1. For this, Rabbitsoft won the Red Herring 100 Europe award in 2009.

Clinked was developed as a separate software, using the social components of Rabbit 1, and was commercially released at the end of 2011. Within its first 6 months of operation, it was featured among the ''top 20 most innovative products in Britain" by Cisco's BIG awards 2012.[1]

In 2013 Clinked began a round of angel funding on the crowd funding website, Angels Den.[2] Clinked completed this round in December 2013 after raising £109,031.

History

Clinked was founded in 2008 by Tayfun Bilsel and Victor Stekly. It developed from Bilsel's 'Project Rabbit' thesis, which was aiming to solve the problem of collaboration in the workplace. These problems had been experienced by Stekly's multinational business, Welding Alloys Group.[3] Clinked's first office was on Luard Road in Cambridge where the company remained for two years. Clinked released its Beta version in April 2011, before releasing the commercial version seven months later in November.

The following year Clinked left Cambridge and moved to Fowlmere. Multi language support became available in January 2012, and in May of the same year, Clinked launched on GetApp and became a part of Google Apps. 2012 was also the year in which Clinked was entered into the Cisco BIG Awards. In June 2012, Clinked was announced to be one of the award's semi-finalists. By October, Clinked had released their mobile app for Android and Apple iOS.

In December 2013, Clinked returned to Cambridge, moving to its current home in CB1 Business Centre on Station Road.
