Clovis Pioneers
The Clovis Pioneers was a proposed professional baseball team that was to be based in Clovis, New Mexico. It was to be a member of the Pecos League, an independent baseball league which is not affiliated with Major or Minor League Baseball, intended to begin play in 2011.
Initially, a team known as the Clovis Pioneers played in the West Texas–New Mexico League from 1938 to 1942 and from 1946 to 1955 and in the Southwestern League in 1956. They were affiliated with the Cleveland Indians in 1946, the Chicago Cubs in 1950 and 1951 and the Cincinnati Reds in 1956.[1]
