Clown's Adventure[1] is a 1990 Chinese comedy film directed by Yu Jie, starring Mao Yongming as a comedic superstar who finds himself the target of many clumsy gangsters after accidentally picking up the wrong briefcase.
Plot
Wan Xiaoxiao (Mao Yongming), a former Peking opera actor who always portrayed clowns, has successfully transformed himself into a big celebrity by starring in skits, TV series, and advertisements for questionable swine supplements. He has a wife Ye Lü (Wu Jing) but still hangs out with groupies, evades taxes, and charges huge amounts for appearances. He has so many rehearsals that he doesn't even have time to visit his mother. His former teacher considers him a disgrace. When he accidentally picks up the wrong briefcase — one filled with a template to print counterfeit money — he finds himself trailed by several rival gangs in a series of absurd adventures.
