The dainty damselfly (Coenagrion scitulum) is a blue damselfly of the family Coenagrionidae.
Status and distribution
This is a scarce species found mainly in southern Europe, northern Africa, southwest Asia, and Central America.
Status in Britain
The species was formerly recorded as a breeding species in Britain and became locally extinct in the North Sea flood of 1953.[1] It was rediscovered in Kent in 2010.[1][2]
