Coffee Stain Studios is a Swedish video game developer focusing on computer and mobile games. The company was founded in 2010[1] by students from the University of Skövde where the company is also located. In 2010, they released I Love Strawberries for iOS through The App Store.[2] On April 15, 2011, Sanctum was released for Microsoft Windows through Steam.
I Love Strawberries was distributed by Atari. Sanctum was initially developed like a modification for Unreal Tournament 3. The modification entered in the "Make Something Unreal" competition held by Epic Games in 2009. The game was awarded with multiple honors and was the start of what would become Coffee Stain Studios.
The company signed a five-year agreement with Epic Games to develop games using Unreal Technology.[3]
