Coixcas

Coixcas was a small town located where Mártir de Cuilapán, Atliaca, Mexico is now found. The people there resisted and repulsed attempts by the Aztecs to conquer their city. The area was latter captured by the Spanish conquistadores.

Ruins

According to the people of Apango there are few ruins are except a small temple three kilometers (2 miles) from the small town.

Mestizaje

Since the Spanish conquest the people of Coixcas mingled with the first people who inhabited Apango.
