Colin Cloud is a Scottish stage mentalist, speaker, comedian and writer who describes himself as a forensic mind reader.[1] He has been compared to both English illusionist Derren Brown and to Sherlock Holmes.[2]
Personal life
Cloud was born in Harthill, Scotland. In a 2015 interview with stv Glasgow,[3] Cloud says that he was shy and quiet at school, and that he studied forensic investigation at university. He has stated in several interviews that he became fascinated with Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes, at a young age and learned to replicate the detective's ability to read people.[4]
Colin Cloud began his career by studying a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in forensic investigation, specialising in criminal profiling, at Glasgow Caledonian University (2003-2007) [5] before abandoning that line to pursue a career in entertainment.
In various interviews and on his Twitter account, Cloud has stated that he has two cats. He also has numerous tattoos, including a 2015 addition of a Holmesian cat (with pipe) and another costumed cat.
Cloud has several other tattoos, including one of lyrics from U2's With or Without You.
