Colin Stone (born 31 October 1991) is a Scottish broadcast journalist and presenter for STV News and the former roving reporter on The Riverside Show on STV Glasgow.[1]
Career
Stone graduated in Multimedia Journalism from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2013,[2] having landed an NCTJ award for shorthand[3] and worked in the press team at the London 2012 Olympic Games.[4] He began his journalism career in the summer of 2013 with Clydebank-based local radio station Your Radio before joining local TV station STV Glasgow as one of the 'faces' of the channel just weeks before it launched in June 2014.[5][6]
During his time with STV Glasgow, Stone became known as the 'roving reporter' for the entertainment programme The Riverside Show, which saw him attempt a range of challenges on a daily basis.[7][8][9][10] Stone stayed with the channel for 18 months before moving to STV News in January 2016.[11]
Personal life
Colin hails from the northern village of Castletown in Caithness.[12] He is the younger brother of actress and comedian ML Stone, most recently seen on the BBC comedy show Scot Squad.[13][14]
