Colm Ó Maonlaí (born 11 December 1966) is an Irish actor and musician who is best known for his portrayal of Sean Flynn in the film A Place to Stay. Ó Maonlaí is also known for playing Tom Banks in EastEnders which he portrayed from April 2002 to November 2002.

Early life

Ó Maonlaí was born and raised in Ireland to both fluent Irish parents. He has a brother called Liam Ó Maonlaí.

Career

Before Ó Maonlaí became an actor, he was a Musician and was in a band with his Brother Liam called The Plagues which ran from 1995 to 1998. Ó Maonlaí became an actor in 1998 and starred in Zanzibar, Middleton's Changeling, Aqua, The Haunting of Hell House, I Could Read the Sky and Knocking on Death's Door in the late 1990s. In the early 2000s, Ó Maonlaí starred in Deich gCoisceim, An Leabhar and Chaos. in 2002, Ó Maonlaí moved to the United Kingdom and starred in the British soap opera EastEnders as Irish ex-school bully and firefighter Tom Banks. Ó Maonlaí moved back to Ireland and starred in his best known roll as Sean Flynn in A Place to Stay, he also starred in Rógairí, an Irish historical film. Ó Maonlaí has also featured in The Bill, Doctors, Fair City and Deception.
