Colossos (Heide Park)
Colossos is a wooden roller coaster at Heide Park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. Unlike traditional wooden roller coasters, Colossos is prefabricated, meaning the track is laser cut in a factory to achieve a higher degree of precision. The sections are designed to snap together like Lego pieces. Some of the wood is tightly bonded together in multiple layers instead of being traditionally nailed together by hand.
The "Plug and Play" aspect of the coaster speeds construction and lowers building costs by reducing the amount of labor required. Three other prefabricated wooden roller coasters have since been built: Balder at Liseberg, El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure, and T Express at Everland in South Korea.
