Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance

The Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA) scheme regulates the combined production of heat and power in the United Kingdom and was introduced in 1996. It defines, through calculation of inputs and outputs, "Good Quality CHP" in terms of the achievement of primary energy savings against conventional separate generation of heat and electricity. Compliance with CHPQA is required for CHP installations to be eligible for government subsidies and tax incentives.[1]
