Commission for University Education
The Commission for Higher Education was established in 1985 by an Act of Parliament, Universities Act, CAP 210B as a body corporate to make better provisions for the advancement and quality assurance of university education.

- Planning for the establishment and development of higher education and training;
- Mobilization of resources for higher education and training;
- Accreditation and regular re-inspection (audit) of universities;
- Co-ordination and regulation of admission to universities; and
