Common Jasmine Orange (Chinese: 七里香; pinyin: Qī Lǐ Xiāng; literally: "Seven Mile Fragrance") is Taiwanese Mandopop artist Jay Chou's fifth Mandarin studio album. It was released on February 3, 2004[1] by Alfa Music and distributed by Sony Music Taiwan.
The first lead tracks, "七里香" (Common Jasmine Orange) is a mid-tempo ballad. The other lead tracks, "擱淺" (Stranded) is a piano ballad and "止戰之殤" (Wounds of War) is mid-tempo piano rap number.
Reception
The tracks "七里香" (Common Jasmine Orange), "藉口" (Excuse) and "止戰之殤" (Wounds of War) are listed at number 1, 10 and 88 respectively on Hit Fm Taiwan's Hit Fm Annual Top 100 Singles Chart (Hit-Fm年度百首單曲) for 2004.
The track, "七里香" (Common Jamsine Orange), won one of the Top 10 Songs of the Year and Best Loved Song by Audience at the 2005 HITO Radio Music Awards presented by Taiwanese radio station Hit FM.[2]
According to IFPI the album is listed at #42 on the Top 50 Global Best Selling Albums for 2004[3] and it won the Asia Album of The Year at the 2005 Metro Radio Mandarin Music Awards presented by Hong Kong radio station Metro Info,[4] as well as one of the Top 10 Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year and Highest Selling Mandarin Album of the Year at the 2004 IFPI Hong Kong Album Sales Awards, presented by the Hong Kong branch of IFPI.[5]
