Columns Explanation

Some columns of the List of Active BPMN 2.0 Engines table collect data useful in the context of performance measurement and benchmark of BPMN 2.0 WfEs.[Note 4] The following are the benchmark related columns and requirements in order to a WfE to be considered while benchmarking:

  1. Deployable Process Definition Language. A WfE must supports the deployment of BPMN 2.0 process models;
  2. BPMN 2.0 Core Support.[20] A WfE must supports at least the BPMN 2.0 Core elements;
  3. Release Date. A WfE must be in active development;
  4. Testability Status. A WfE must be testable. It has to expose an API or method calls to interact with the WfE, at least for:
    • deploy a process;
    • request to start the process execution;
    • access pending user, manual and receive tasks, intermediate catching message and signal events;
    • access process execution log.

Notes

  1. Documentation of the engines' compliance with BPMN 2.0 is missing.
  2. Release date of the first version of the product supporting BPMN 2.0.
  3. There is a BPMN 2.0 Designer.
  4. The reason is that this page was set up to collect data useful to benchmark BPMN 2.0 WfEs, as part of the BenchFlow project.
