Conard Fowkes
Conard Fowkes (born 4 January 1933 in Washington D.C - died 14 December 2009 in Manhattan, New York City) was an American actor.
He is most known for his roles in various soap operas. He appeared on Kitty Foyle, The Edge of Night, The Secret Storm, Hidden Faces, Search For Tomorrow, Dark Shadows, and was the last actor to portray Donald Hughes on As the World Turns, a role he played from 1978 to 1981 and again in 1986 and 1988.[1]
Conrad Fowkes was elected to Equity's Council in 1973, and served as the AEA's secretary/treasurer from 1988 to May 2009. In 1977, he co-founded VITA (AEA's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program), which assisted thousands of AEA members with their income taxes. His advocacy also led to the creation of the Qualified Performing Artist deduction in the Federal Tax Code in 1986.
