The Congo bay owl (Phodilus prigoginei) (sometimes placed in Tyto)[2] is a species of bay owl in the Tytonidae family. It is restricted to a small area in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo with possible records from Burundi and Rwanda.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland. It is threatened by habitat loss.
