Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute

The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit and non-partisan organization founded by Members of Congress to advance the Hispanic Community's Economic Progress with a focus on Social Responsibility and Global Competitiveness.

Founded in 2003, CHLI is focused on leadership and fostering diversity of thought.

This is delivered by:

Building Leaders- Through highlighting the phenomenal leaders within CHLI's network ad our CHLI Intern & Future Leaders Program.
Driving Economic and Civic Leadership- Through Congressional Briefings, CHLI's Trade & International Affairs Symposium, and the active leadership of CHLI's members.
Celebrating and Recognizing Leaders- Through honoring strong business, community, and government leaders whose leadership fosters diversity of thought.

CHLI programs strengthen the U.S. Hispanic community by promoting the advancement of Hispanics in all sectors of the U.S. and global economy. CHLI has focused its efforts on developing and strengthening tomorrow’s leaders, and has funded close to a $1,000,000 in educational programs.

CHLI has partnered with Florida International University to have communication fellows in the CHLI office. This fellowship provides a student with an opportunity to serve as the point person in the execution of CHLI's communications and marketing strategy.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors and Founder is Former U.S. Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart. The Executive Director of CHLI is Mary Ann Gomez.
