Consistency (suspension)

Consistency is a term used in the pulp and paper making industry.

The consistency of a suspension is defined as:

C = x/(x+y)

Where C is consistency, x is the mass of pulp, and y is the mass of the rest of the suspension (usually mainly composed of water).
