Consuelo Silva

Chelo (Consuelo Silva) was a popular singer of Mexican ranchera music who had a long career spanning from the 1930s through the 1980s.

Life

She was born in Brownsville, Texas August 25, 1922 and died in Corpus Christi, Texas of cancer on April 2, 1988.

Career

She performed with some of the great stars of her time, including José Alfredo Jiménez, Javier Solís, and Lola Beltrán.

Hits

Among her most popular hits are "Está Sellado," "Sabes de Qué Tengo Ganas," "Amor Aventurero," and "Soy Bohemia."
