Cool Country Favorites is the 16th studio output by country artist Marty Stuart.

The album is considered as a tribute to traditional country music, with Stuart and his Superlatives recording many country and folk standards, such as 'Freight Train Boogie' (which was also recorded by Willie Nelson in 2010), 'Pretty Boy Floyd' (by Woody Guthrie) and Johnny Cash's 'Big River'.

The album also has material that had already been recorded by Stuart: 'A Satisfied Mind' and 'Sundown In Nashville' both appeared on Stuart's 2003 album Country Music.

As well as traditional country songs, the album also had new material written by Stuart, along with his Superlatives. Original songs on the album are 'Truck Drivers' Blues' (not to be confused with Merle Haggard's song of the same name, which appears on his album 1996). The song 'Carol Lee' was written by the Superlatives' lead guitarist, "Cousin" Kenny Vaughan.
