Coptosoma scutellatum is a species of true bugs belonging to the family Plataspidae, subfamily Plataspinae.

Size is about 4–5 mm. The scutellum covers the abdomen and the tarsus is bipartite.

It is found in most of Europe. It is one of the four European species of Coptosoma, most of other being restricted to Asia and Ethiopia.
