Corina (born January 26, 1980) is a Romanian pop, dance, and R&B singer. She debuted in 2004 with her album Noi Doi, produced by Marius Moga. The main single from the album entitled Noi Doi reached fourth place in the Romanian Top 100.[1] The second album, named Îmi place tot, was launched on January 1, 2005 and produced two great singles one that reached Top 10 and the other Top 5 in the Romanian Top 100.[2][3] The third album Face Off represents a significant change in the artist's singing style having dancehall, reggae, R&B, drum'n bass, hip hop, house and electro influences, but still remaining a pop/dance album. This album produced two big singles "Quieres una aventura" and "Overdrive". The fourth album Gimme Your Love was launched in July 2008 and received good critics from the Bravo magazine.[4] The album was produced and recorded in Germany in a Hamburg based studio, under the supervision of Toni Cottura.[4]
Musical career
She debuted in 2004 with the album Noi Doi, produced by Marius Moga and Smiley. The main single from the album entitled Noi doi features Pacha Man and Moga and reached the fourth place on the Romanian Top 100. It is still one of the artist's most successful singles.
In 2010 Corina recorded a demo version of a song titled "No Time for Sleeping" for the German Popstars winner group LaVive. The girls released it as their debut single but it only reached number thirteen on the German Singles Chart. On the Romanian Top 100 Corina's version "No Sleepin'" was a smash, reaching number eight on the chart on May 29, 2011. She released a reggae fusion/Europop song called "A Ta" in 2012. The song quickly became a massive radio hit, reaching number three on the Romanian Airplay 100 on September 30, 2012 and becoming Corina's most successful single on the chart. The follow-up "Pernele moi", a collaboration with Romanian reggae artist Pacha Man, reached similar success as it also peaked at number three on the Romanian Airplay 100.
