Cornwall Hockey Association Plate
The Cornwall Hockey Association Plate, commonly referred to as the Cornwall Plate or simply The Plate, is a knockout cup competition in Field Hockey for clubs based in Cornwall. The competition is the second-tier knockout competition run by the Cornwall Hockey Association, and is contested by clubs who are defeated in, or prior to, Round 1 of the Cornwall Hockey Association Knockout Cup. The competition is contested by both male and female hockey teams within the county of Cornwall.
As of the 2011–12 season, the competitions included are the Men's Plate and Ladies Plate, the reigning champions of both are Penzance HC.
Competitions and Format
The Men's and Ladies Plates are played concurrently between December and April, culminating with the competition finals which are typically played in early April. The finals of the competitions are contested on a single date (a Sunday) at a single venue determined by the Cornwall Hockey Association at the start of each season, and coincide with the finals of the CHA Cup competitions. The Finals of the 2011-12 Competitions were held at Penzance HC on 15 April 2012.

Men's Plate
As of the 2011-12 Season, The Men's Cornwall Plate was contested by 6 of the 16 men's teams within Cornwall, representing 4 clubs. Three rounds of matches are used to determine the champions. Four clubs enter the competition in Round 1, contesting two matches, the winners of this join the remaining two teams in Round 2 (semi-finals).
Ladies Plate
As of the 2011-12 Season, The Ladies Cornwall Plate is contested by 11 of the 19 ladies teams within Cornwall. Four rounds of matches are used to determine the champions. Round 1 of the competition is contested by the six lowest-ranked teams in the competition, with the three winning sides joining the remaining 5 teams in the Quarter Finals.
