Cory Alexander Henry (born February 27, 1987) is an American jazz organist and pianist, gospel musician and music producer. He started his music career, in 2006, by touring with various mainstream and gospel artists. Henry has released two albums, First Steps (2014) and The Revival (2016), while both of these albums charted on the Billboard magazine charts.
Early life
Henry was born on February 27,[1] 1987,[2] as Cory Alexander Henry,[3] in Brooklyn, New York,[4] where he was playing both the piano and B3 organ, at just two years old. He played a show at the Apollo Theater, when he was six.[5][6]
Music career
His musical touring began in 2006, while he has since toured with many mainstream artists, who are Bruce Springsteen, Michael McDonald, P. Diddy, Boyz II Men, Kenny Garrett and The Roots, and gospel artists, among them are Israel Houghton, Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, and Yolanda Adams.[5] He released, First Steps, an album, on July 21, 2014, with Wild Willis Jones Records. This album charted on the Billboard magazine charts, while it placed on the Top Jazz Albums and Top Heatseekers Albums, where it peaked at Nos. 5 and 30,[7][8] respectively. His second album, a live recording, The Revival, was released on March 18, 2016, from GroundUp Music.[9] The album charted on the Top Gospel Albums and Top Jazz Albums, where it peaked at Nos. 5 and 2,[10][11] correspondingly.
