Corybas range map

Corybas is a genus of orchids (family Orchidaceae). As of January 2016, about 130 species are accepted, native to Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, southern China, numerous islands in the Pacific, and a few sub-Antarctic islands between Australia and the Antarctic.[1]

The name of the genus is derived from the Greek κορύβαντος (korybantos),[2] a male dancer, shown in illustrations wearing a crested helmet, who worshipped the goddess Cybele.
