Country Inns & Suites

Country Inns & Suites by Carlson is the upper mid-scale hotel brand within the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group portfolio. Country Inns & Suites hotels are designed for both business and leisure travelers and provide complimentary hot breakfast and high-speed Internet. Country Inns & Suites hotels are mainly independently owned and operated and franchised under licensing agreements with the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

The brand currently operates 480 hotels throughout the world and has over 30 properties contracted and under development. The brand is working to expand by adding 150 hotels primarily in the U.S., Canada, India and Mexico by 2015.

History

Country Inns & Suites By Carlson opened its first hotel in Burnsville, Minnesota in 1968. The first one was opened next to a kitchen named Country Kitchen (1968-present), whichspun off into its own company, CI&S.

In August 25, 1989, its headquarters is in Chanhassen, Minnesota, next to Country Kitchen, as a domestic restaurant.

In 1991 in Japan, its Japan headquarters is called Country Japan of Tokyo.
