Court lady
A court lady or a palace lady, is a female attendant who waiting on the monarch and other royalty in a palace. The duties of court ladies varied from court to court. In some courts, court ladies are the servant or slave of the court. However, some act as secretary or companion to their mistresses. In the courts which polygyny is practiced, a male monarch may have sexual intercourse with the court ladies and a court lady may become a wife or a concubine of the monarch.
