Covington Municipal Airport (FAA LID: 9A1) is a city-owned public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) north of the central business district of Covington, a city in Newton County, Georgia, United States.[1]

Facilities and aircraft

Covington Municipal Airport covers an area of 60 acres (24 ha) at an elevation of 809 feet (247 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 10/28 with an asphalt surface measuring 5,500 by 75 feet (1,676 x 23 m).[1]

For the 12-month period ending February 10, 2009, the airport had 30,000 general aviation aircraft operations, an average of 82 per day. At that time there were 37 aircraft based at this airport: 78% single-engine and 22% multi-engine.[1]
