Cruiseable is an online travel company, travel publication and search engine for the cruise industry. It allows users to search for and book cruises and also provides reviews and opinions from experts in the travel industry. Cruiseable has been compared to TripAdvisor with journalists but for cruises.[1]

History

Cruiseable was founded in 2015 by J. D. Lasica and Giacomo Balli. It raised $200,000 in angel investment, including from investors Don Dodge (Google Ventures) and Andrezej Targosz (Coders Mill).[1] Cruiseable was launched in March 2015 at the Cruise Shipping Miami conference.[2] It launched as both a website at Cruiseable.com and a mobile application on iOS.[3]

Features

Cruiseable is described as a travel company, cruise discovery engine and online travel publication. Its features include a search engine that allows users to find cruises based on destination, price, date of travel and activities.[4] It has regular contributors to the site by travel experts and also allows crowdsourced reviews and photos.[5] The site also has travel guides for various destinations.[1]

The company's booking engine supports 30 cruise lines, including including Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Princess, Disney, Holland America, Celebrity, Viking, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas and several other luxury cruise, river cruise and adventure cruise lines.[1] It also allows users to talk with cruise advisors certified by the Cruise Lines International Association.[6]
