Cyriac Thomas
Cyriac Thomas, Ph.D. (born October 10, 1943 in Palai) is a Member of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions of India[1] and the former Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India.[2]
Personal profile
Thomas's father was Shri. R.V. Thomas, Member of Constituent Assembly of India and Speaker of the Kerala State Legislative Assembly, a prominent freedom fighter and Congress leader from Kerala. His mother was Mrs. Aleykutty Thomas (popularly known as Mrs. R.V.) who was also a freedom fighter from Kerala; she was the first woman Municipal Councillor of Palai and a renowned Congress leader and social activist of her times.
