D4 - Get Up and Dance is an Indian dance fiction television series that premiered on Channel V India on 22 February 2016.[1] The show is a mélange of drama, romance and impressive dance moves.[1][2]
Summary
Niharika Sinha known as Baby in her conservative household and also in her circle of friends lives in Delhi. She is coerced into studying MBA, she tops in college but dancing is her passion. She tries to keep it as a secret because of her father who becomes influenced by his sister Kamini. Her role model is well known dancer Mikhail Shah who runs a Dance Academy named "D4" in Goa. She learns new dancing steps by watching his dance videos and has a huge crush on him. One day she goes to a party and her bestfriend Sonam's brother, Nikhil, spikes her drink and she gets drunk. In a drunken state, she starts dancing to Mikhail's dance. People video record her and the video goes viral. Although she gets the video off, many people view it including Mikhail and her aunt Kamini. Kamini tells Baby's father and he gets extremely disappointed. A day later, she and her mother leaves for Goa to visit and stay in her aunt Kamini's house. Kamini tells Baby she knows about her viral video and confronts her. Baby promises to Kamini that she will never dance again. Kamini lies to Baby and tells her that she did not tell her father. Meanwhile, Baby's best friend Sonam comes to Goa as well. Baby wants to buy her father something, but does not have money. She decides to work somewhere. She finds a job at a dance academy which happen to be Mikhail's. She works as an assistant for Nehtra, who is Mikhail's "girlfriend". Mikhail is getting ready for a show he is doing called "Soulmates". They have got every character except for the main female lead named Aneri. Mikhail is very picky about her and says she should be innocent, pretty, and very soft. Nehtra thinks she should be Aneri, but Mikhail thinks she doesn't dance with softness, but with anger. One day, Nehtra was dancing and when she was done she walked away and left the music on. Baby starts dancing while Mikhail is watching from the door. He finds her perfect for Aneri and tells everyone including his family friend, Dia that he wants to audition her. Meanwhile, Baby leaves the job since she feels bad for lying to her family about her job. Mikhail then asks Baby to audition for Aneri.
D4 organizes summer camp dance classes and also a dance competition and the winner will get a chance to work in Mikhail's broadway show "Soulmates" and also will get a chance to work with him as a dance partner.
