DJ Fenix
DJ Fenix (Real Name: Alexandr Mamonov) (b. born July 5, 1986, Moscow, Russia) is a Russian Electronic Dance Music (EDM) DJ, a multi-instrumentalist and producer.
History
Fenix performs worldwide, but he has become known as the Kremlin's "official house DJ", and more specifically as Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin's favorite DJ.[1][2][3][4] [5]
Career
His performances have included private performances for Russian President Medvedev and Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov. Fenix performs in European clubs and party venues, but recently decided to spend more time in the United States, and has performed at New York City venues.[6][7][8]
Recognition
- Fenix was named "Best DJ" at the 2014 Musicbox Awards, and specializes in electronic dance music.[4]
- Fenix was awarded the 2012 Music Entertainment Award[9]
His performances in Europe have included shows with David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Bob Sinclar, and Steve Aoki.[2][10]
Family
Mamonov's father was a FSB Agent and has retired from a position as a senior intelligence officer in the Russian government[2][4][7]
