DJ Times is an American music-trade magazine specializing in the disc jockey market based out of Port Washington, New York. Established in 1988 by Testa Communications, DJ Times was the first DJ-specific magazine to publish in the United States. Every month, more than 30,000 DJs turn to DJ Times as their primary source for product information, business tips, music, news, and more.

In addition, each August, DJ Times presents The DJ Expo at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Produced by DJ Times and its publisher Testa Communications since 1990, the Expo remains the DJ industry's best-attended, most-successful trade show and convention.

Since 2006, DJ Times has conducted America's Best DJ—a vote and promotion to find out the country's most-popular DJ. Each year, DJ Times nominates 100 DJs, and fans vote for their favorites both online and in-person at selectred tour events that run from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Since its inception, Pioneer DJ has served as title sponsor to ABDJ's supporting schedule of live events, known officially as: America's Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ & DJ Times.

In November 2013, DJ Times began a year-long celebration of the magazine’s 25th anniversary. The DJ Expo

The DJ Expo is the world’s largest annual gathering of professional DJs. Hosted at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, top DJs and manufacturers come together for a four-day event that features educational seminars, an exhibit hall filled with the latest DJ, pro audio and studio gear, and evenings full of sponsored events and special surprises. The 2013 Expo offered nearly 6,400 attendees a deep schedule of exhibits, seminars, and parties that saw participation from exhibitors and sponsors like ADJ, Pioneer DJ, Mackie, Chauvet, Rane, Stanton DJ, QSC Audio, and many others. Krewella, DJ Premier, Biz Markie, Morgan Page, and DJ Skribble were among the show’s performing artists.

The Dj Expo reached a milestone in 2015 celebrating its 25th anniversary. The event reached an all-time high when on the exhibit floor Dj Hitman of Senate djs posed with Marley Marl for a photo.

America's Best DJ

The annual America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ & DJ Times has established itself as the primary poll for ranking US-based DJs. At selected events, DJ Times and America’s Best DJ staff maintain dedicated booths where paper-ballot votes are taken for nominee DJs. As an incentive, all voters (online or at tour events) enter to win a VIP trip to the ABDJ Closing Party & Award Ceremony at Marquee Nightclub in Las Vegas.

The 2013 tour included 17 events over 28 dates in 13 different American cities, reaching over 615,000 people. Voting took place at major festivals such as Movement Festival in Detroit, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Wavefront Music Festival in Chicago, Camp Bisco in New York, and Global Dance Festival at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. Nightclub events included stops at Marquee Dayclub and Nightclub in Las Vegas, Marquee New York, Avalon in Los Angeles, Ruby Skye in San Francisco, plus many more.

On October 13, 2013, Kaskade, was crowned America’s Best DJ for the second time in his career, and received a golden Pioneer mixer award. Diplo, Skrillex, Bassnectar, and Porter Robinson rounded out the top 5 in the voting. (Note: No DJ can win the title in consecutive years.)
