Dr.Sree Bhushan Raju M.D., D.M., Diplomate of National Board, (Telugu: శ్రీ భూషణ్ రాజు) is a nephrologist from Telangana, India. He is currently Professor and Head, Dept of Nephrology, Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Panjagutta. Hyderabad. He is also elected as NIMS faculty association President.

Early life

Sree Bhushan Raju was born in Vanaparthi village in a rural lower-middle-class background. This village is in Bhongir mandal of Nalgonda district of Telangana. After primary education in the native place, he was admitted to medical education in Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad and completed the course in 1993. He was awarded gold medals during the curriculum. He got a high ranking in all India competitive examination and joined the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. He completed M.D. in General Medicine in 1989. Later he joined All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India and completed D.M. in Nephrology. He scored high marks and earned a gold medal in D.N.B exam September 2002

Career

He has written more than 100 publications in various national and international journals and has attended conferences and workshops abroad both as a delegate and speaker/moderator since the last 10 years. He is a regular writer in popular print media and educate the publish in various Kidney diseases.

In addition to seeing patients daily, he specialises in kidney transplantation and CAP dialysis. He is known for his least use of immunosuppressive drugs without induction agents in organ transplantation. He has performed more than 250 kidney transplants, 5000 biopsies and more than 700 CAPD patients, since 2011.

He has conducted regular free medical camps for the people of his village and surrounding villages. He started providing basic amenities to the nephrology department's like ARCU renovation, fans, water purifiers, chairs and patient education kits.

He was the recipient of the Vaidya Ratna award from the Suman Arts in the 2014 for meritorious services in health care.
