Da'i

Da'i (Arabic: "missionary") refers to a person who engages in Dawah, the act of inviting people to Islam.[1]

In Dawoodi Bohra tradition

Literally meaning "the absolute or unrestricted missionary". In the Fatimid era Ismā'īlī faith, the term dā'ī has been used to refer to important religious leaders other than the hereditary Imāms, and the Da'wa or "Mission" is a clerical-style organisation. Today, it is title of the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community.[2]
