Dadrewa is a village situated in Churu district of Rajasthan, India. The village is situated on the Hissar-Bikaner Highway in between Sadulpur and Taranagar. The famous Gogaji Pir, was born at Dadrewa.

Etymology

The name Dadreva is derived from its ancient name Dadrirek Nagar (Devnagari: दद्रिरेक नगर).

History

It was the ancient capital of Chauhan Rulers.This was also ruled by Kaimkhanis. There are the ancient remains of Gogaji period.

Veer Gogaji

Dadrewa is known as the birthplace of Gogaji who became popular as a powerful king and a pir in various states of northern India. Gogaji was perhaps the most powerful Chauhan rajput who had ruled Dadrewa. His kingdom, Bagad Dedga, spanned from Satluj to Hansi in Haryana. Dadrewa was the capital city of 'Bagad Dedga'. A fair in Gogaji's memory is held in Dadrewa every year in month of BhaadwaAug-Sep.
